Flat Top Lug Spacer Question...

Built a kit last December using flat tops with the axiel insert and just noticed that all of the lugs on the toms are leaning in at the top (tension rod side) and have kind of squashed the rubber spacers at the top. I don't have the lugs screwed on too tight and I didn't anticipate this, especially with the axiel inserts.

I was hoping to find some plastic spacers to use in place of the rubber spacers and I wanted to ask here first. I would assume that ego doesn't need to make rubber and plastic spacers, but I do have a drum company and would to resolve this leaning problem before I built another kit.

Thanks...

By the way, all other aspect of the drums are the correct size. Hoops, shell diameter, etc and it's only happening on the toms and not on the bass drum.

If your lugs are not screwed on that tight then that is your problem. You need to take off all of your heads, take off any lugs and gaskets, re-assemble and make sure you tighten the lugs fairly tight. If they are not tight, then they can end up leaning towards the tension rod. This isn't just with our lugs, any single mounting lug on the market will do the exact same thing. They need to be mounted securely to the shell.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Tyler
